so, i started making a hooded afghan on thursday, for christine's baby shower.
the yarn felt fine when i bought it, though the pattern was kinda ugly. i figured the odd frequency of seed stitch stripes was mostly to keep track of rows, but it was still ugly.

so, i knit a couple of inches, it takes awhile when you're working on the side of a blanket, and felt the resulting material. it was horrible. like fiberglass. i can't in good conscience give something that feels like that to a baby, especially one that i'm related to. so christine's getting an activity blanket from molly for her baby shower. and i have to find better yarn for other projects. perhaps some cotton ease....

ok, finished one sleeve of skully, but now i don't have the need or urge to finish the other one. it's getting really warm and i have a lot of other things that i need to finish, things that are much more pressing than skully.

also, i visited the snotty yarn store on chagrin blvd. they have a 50% off bin. this means two things. 1) i will be losing a great deal of money that i do not have and 2) i will have to visit the snotty yarn store.

and i've finally gotten back to the knitting.

i finished the chart for my started sleeve on my sweater. in finish line is in sight now.

i have to start my entry for the TNNA competition, but that means i have to find a baby cardigan pattern that i like (daisy might not work out the way i want for this particular piece) and alter the pattern somehow so it's not just something that i found online. also, i need to buy the yarn that i mean to use for embroidery, and that's going to be expensive.

i've also found a lace shawl that i want to make, but i've lost the url, so i can't post a link here.

attempted maisy's purse this weekend while watching some movies dad rented. two of the movies were good and two of the movies were bad. i didn't knit during the good movies and i started three or four times during the bad movies, became annoyed at the yarn and ripped everything out.

i started again and got about a quarter of the way through the purse on sunday night, but now i think i'm going to run out of the yarn i'm using.

grrr

double grrr.

the knitting has been stopped for the time being, due to several emergencies. this makes me sad. last night, it looked like i might be finished with all the stuff that is taking up my time and maybe i can finish some projects this weekend.

things that need to be finished:

my skully sweater. i haven't touched the frickin' thing in two weeks. i must finish it, even though the weather's getting too nice to wear it anymore.

my little cousin (first cousin once removed) purse project: i've finished knitting two of the three purses, but have yet to finish them (need to attach handles to one and snaps to both) and i haven't started knitting the third, but it'll only take an hour or so. (i love little purses)

project that have been planned and need to be started:

three baby sweaters, all Daisy, but with different embroidery on them. i'm going to make a blue one with a scene on the back (rainclouds, raindrops and flowers) for barb's daughter rayne, make a yellow one for christine's baby and wait until she has the kid to put either flowers or snakes on it, and then one for the up and coming watson baby who will have a plain yellow sweater. (thank god for lion brand "pound of love")

i'll put up pictures as soon as i can get them
